Halo 3 Crucible Series Overview


The Halo 3 Crucible Series is an exhilarating sequence of competitive gaming events designed to test and showcase the skills of Halo 3 players across four Open tournaments, culminating in a grand Championship event. This series is not just about individual matches but about a season-long journey where strategy, teamwork, and adaptability are rewarded through a comprehensive points system.


Crucible Points System:

  • 1st Place: 25,000 points

  • 2nd Place: 15,000 points

  • 3rd Place: 11,000 points

  • 4th Place: 9,000 points

  • 5th - 6th Place: 8,000 points

  • 7th - 8th Place: 7,000 points

  • 9th - 12th Place: 5,500 points

  • 13th - 16th Place: 4,500 points

  • 17th - 24th Place: 3,000 points

  • 25th - 32nd Place: 2,000 points

  • 33rd - 40th Place: 1,600 points

  • 41st - 48th Place: 1,400 points

  • 49th - 64th Place: 1,000 points


Throughout the series, players participate in four Open events, each featuring a player draft to form new teams, ensuring a dynamic and fresh competitive environment. The first and third Opens follow the MLG (Major League Gaming) format, where precision and strategy are paramount, while the second and fourth Opens employ the Radar On setting, emphasizing tactical use of information and positioning.


Points are accumulated individually across all Open events, determining who qualifies for the Championship. The top 32 players, forming 8 teams, will advance to the Championship, with the possibility of expanding to 12 teams (48 players) based on attendance at the Open events. This expansion reflects the series' commitment to inclusivity and recognition of talent.


The Championship event is the pinnacle of the series, blending both MLG and Radar On formats for an ultimate test of versatility, where teams are drafted once more for this final showdown. Here, players not only fight for victory but to etch their names into the lore of Halo competitive gaming.
